Kris Deschouwer

    • Kris Deschouwer is emeritus professor in the Department of Political Science.

      His research and publications deal with political parties, elections, political representation, regionalism, federalism and consociational democracy and Belgian politics.

      He was between 2007 and 2017 the central co-ordinator of the Inter-University Attraction Pole PARTIREP (Political participation and representation in modern democracies) and is currently co-promoter of the Research Programme on Evaluating Democratic Governance in Europe (EDGE).

      He has been co-editor of the European Journal of Political Research (2003-2009). He is a member of the Executive Committee of the ECPR since 2015 and Chair of the ECPR since 2018.

      He has held teaching and research positions at the University of Bergen, the Université de Lille, the Université de Aix-en-Provence, the Université de Lausanne, the European University Institute in Firenze, the Australian National University, the Universität Mannheim and the University of Siena.
