Ignace Glorieux

    Ignace Glorieux is a professor of sociology and head of the Sociology department of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). He teaches courses on social theory, social inequality, sociology of time, leisure politics and methodology.
    He is involved in time use studies in Belgium since more than 30 years, studies the entry and careers of students in higher education and is involved in different surveys on cultural practices and cultural participation. Currently he is the president of the International Association for Time Use Research (IATUR), a member of the EUROSTAT Taskforce on Harmonizing European Time Use Surveys (HETUS), a member of the Advisory Group of ‘Time Use Data for Health and Well Being’ of the University of Maryland and co-founder of hbits, a Spin-Off of the Research Group TOR.
