  • Onderzoeksexpertise:In my research I utilize an active signal emitted by plants in the red and far-red spectra of light (650-800 nm) called sun-induced chlorophyll fluorescence to predict plant photosynthesis. In particular I’m interested in how sun-induced chlorophyll fluorescence changes with structural (leaf wilting, -rolling, -folding etc.) and physiological (photochemical and non-photochemical quenching) changes induced by stress. To answer this question we use manipulation experiments to put plants under different stress conditions (nutrient-, water-, heat stress) and measure sun-induced chlorophyll fluorescence, gas exchange and passive fluorescence at leaf and canopy.
