Investigating the role of hemodynamics in AAA formation using an apoe -/- mouse model

A novel methodology was developed to simulate hemodynamics in the mouse abdominal aorta based on in vivo measurements. This methodology was used in a mouse model of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). Results showed no obvious link between locations of disturbed flow and locations where the AAA develops.
