Een antropologische en pneumatologische studie van γεννηθῆναι ἄνωθεν: Een historisch-kritische analyse van Joh 3,3-7

This project intends to study the anthropological and pneumatological aspects of John 3:3-7. By using the historical-critical method, we will analyse the historical roots and context of John 3:3-7 with a special focus on the expression γεννηθῆναι ἄνωθεν and its evolution in the Jewish and Hellenistic contexts. The exegetical study of John 3:3-7 will investigate the wider and immediate context, literary context, and merits and demerits of the text. This research provides a special focus on the anthropological aspects of the text in order to understand the Johannine perceptions of the human being. Moreover, by doing a comparative analysis between the anthropological and pneumatological aspects in the passage, this study aims to understand how the anthological aspects in John 3:3-7 serve as a paradigm to understand the pneumatology of the Gospel of John.
