Projects
Investigation of novel targets for therapeutic intervention in chronic gut and joint inflammation in spondyloarthritides Ghent University
In this proposal the relationship between gut and joint inflammation in spondyloarthritis is examined through investigation of the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms with focus on biomechanical stress and hypoxia. Their role in stromal and endothelial cells will be assessed. Furthermore, the impact on the composition of the intestinal microbial flora and the host´s mucosal immune system will be explored.
