Study of fully integrated rechargeable energy storage device for application in smart textiles Ghent University
The project aims at improving the energy storage efficiencyand capacity while minimizing the voltage decay of a textile-based energy storage device. The study involves characterization and analysis of yarn electrodes and electrolyte and the fabrication of an improved cell. Secondary objective is to develop a fully integrated cell that can be seamlessly incorporated in the textile structure.
SmartPro: Smart textiles and wearable intelligence intelligent prototypes for industrial and useful products Ghent University
SmartPro is a project approved by the! WT within it! WT VIS program. The project aims to support the companies in the target group to achieve smart textiles and wearable intelligence with the accompanying software and data processing systems. This translates into identifying and removing the barriers to feasible to (process), useful (-eindgebruiker) and you · integrated (- exploitation) products / systems to come. Specifically SmartPRO ...
Advanced fabrics for smart textiles Ghent University
Different yarn types, production conditions and bindings will be evaluated (by measuring the electrical contact resistance, both static and dynamic, and as a function of time) for a range of different applications that have different requirements, so that the results for a wide range of applications can be extrapolated to be. Specifically, data transfer, heating, lighting and (photovoltaic) energy transfer are considered. The production ...
TEXTILE BASED CAPACITOR/BATTERY FOR SMART TEXTILE SYSTEM APPLICATION Ghent University
In this research, textile capacitors/batteries are developed using either silver coated yarns or pure stainless steel filaments as electrodes. PEDOT:PSS is used as a solid electrolyte. The remaining part of this research aims at studying the fabricated device to improve on its performance and at meausuring its behavior after washing.
HYDRAX: Design for innovative smart textile by flow-metric method to detect, characterize, and monitor thermal and mass transfers for firefighters, medical and sports and geotextile applications Ghent University
Elasta produces elastic and non-elastic narrow fabrics. Within that range of products they are constantly striving for new innovetions. In that context there have been several contacts with the Dept. of Textiles of Ghent University. Through this contact Elasta was acquainted with the search for a partner to manufactre a textile-based heat flux sensor. From natural phenomena to industrial applications, phase change plays an important role in ...
Realization of smart textile applications with high customer acceptance by use of 3D printing technologies Centexbel - Scientific and Technical Centre of the Belgian Textile industry
In the Smart3D, 3D printing techniques are used to develop smart textile applications.
Smart textile products are able to perceive changes in the environment and provide the wearer with additional ...
Debond - Advancing recycling of multilayer plastics and textiles using an integrated approach for debonding on demand technology Ghent University
Increasingly efficient recycling of packaging and textiles is necessary to achieve 50% material recycling by 2040, as set out in the 'European Plastics Strategy' In both the packaging industry, and the textile sector, recycling and reuse of waste products is very low (50% and 49% of waste products are incinerated, respectively). This is mainly due to the use of multilayer materials. The use of multilayer materials in the packaging industry ...
PROCOTEX U+2013 Products of Coated Textiles Ghent University
Within the consortium consisting of 2 European and 1 South-African partner, different surface modification technologies as well as expertise in electrospinning are available. These technologies are the basis for developing 3 prototype products:a textile fibre with transistor properties as on-off switch for textile sensors; a sensor for nitric oxide detection and an air filter for dedicated filtration of NOx. Knowledge and research skills ...
