The Effect of Limited Sample Sizes on the Accuracy of the Estimated Scaling Parameter for Power-Law-Distributed Solar Data KU Leuven
© 2016, Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht. Many natural processes exhibit a power-law behavior. The power-law exponent is linked to the underlying physical process, and therefore its precise value is of interest. With respect to the energy content of nanoflares, for example, a power-law exponent steeper than 2 is believed to be a necessary condition for solving the enigmatic coronal heating problem. Studying power-law distributions over ...

Assessment of actual food portions sizes in a sample of adolescents from Cochabamba (Bolivia) Ghent University
Quality analysis for particle size analysis of geotheque samples Departement of spatial development, environment, energy, climate, green economy, animal welfare
Research and reporting conducted by the Flemish Environmental Planning Office (VPO), in the context of collecting valuable data from soil samples stored in the Geotheque of the Department of the Environment. Soil samples were selected for comparison of the quality of grain size analyses of undisturbed and stirred samples for future use of data from Geotheque samples in qualitative databases.
