A network approach on power processes in the governance of mental health care integration Ghent University
The integration of mental health care is under-researched, particularly in low-to-middle-income settings. The study will aim to investigate the influences of power structures on the implementation of mental health integration in South Africa. Social network analysis and in-depth interviews will be combined to examine the role of power in relationships between stakeholders involved in integration processes.
Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health and daily-life social processes of youth, and the role of socio-economic deprivation KU Leuven
Crucial social-developmental processes in youth are impacted by COVID-19 lockdown measures, threatening mental health and well-being. We investigate the short- and longer-term impact of the pandemic upon youth’s social processes, mental health and well-being by collecting real-time data from a pre-existing adolescent cohort and by establishing a new longitudinal cohort of youth experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage. We aim to create novel ...

Mental health care professionals and organizations, powerful an conscious agents in the stigma process? Ghent University
This study investigates attitudes of mental health professionals towards persons with mental health problems, paying specific attention to stigma. Attitudes and cognitions of mental health care professionals will be compared to those of the general population and social workers who interact with people with mental problems. The different components of stigmatization will be investigated by quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Stress-Based Fatigue Behaviour of Metal Components Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion: Influence of Process Conditions and Post Processes KU Leuven
Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) is one of the most popular metal additive manufacturing technologies capable of manufacturing complex and intricate-shaped designs. In order to use LPBF-processed components in functional applications, their long term fatigue behaviour has to be validated. This work investigates the fatigue behaviour of metal parts produced by LPBF. More specifically, the influence of different process conditions such as heat ...
Digital Twin and virtual sensing strategies for metal casting processes and products KU Leuven
Casting processes account for almost half of light metal production. Metal casting process consists of filling a mold cavity with molten metal. Upon solidification, metal parts are produced that can be used for automotive, aerospace, or other applications. However, due to the complexity of the process the defect rate and the scrap rate is high. The Phd protect aims to develop a digital twin for metal casting process that gives deep insights ...
Sabbatical: Albert Van Bael: innovations in the modeling of 3D printed shape memory polymers and sheet metal forming processes. KU Leuven
My research will focus on innovations in the modeling of 3D printed shape memory polymers and sheet metal forming processes. The aim
is to realize significant extensions of the functionalities of the software that we developed in KU Leuven IOF Knowledge Platform
“Multiscale Simulations of Plastic Metal Forming Processes” (2012-2017). The research on polymers will be conducted in collaboration
with profs. K. Jansen and S. ...
