Novel substrates and triggers for the production of mannosylerythritol lipids (MELs) by Pseudozyma aphidis University of Antwerp
Economic and ecological mannosylerythritol lipids (MEL) production by Pseudozyma aphidis through the use of waste and side streams as feedstock, innovative downstream processing and genetic engineering. University of Antwerp
Regulation and interaction between the morphological switch and the mannosylerythritol lipids (MEL) production in the yeast Pseudozyma aphidis DSM70725. University of Antwerp
Development of hierarchical zeolite catalysts for the bifunctional conversion of lipids to biofuels. KU Leuven
The on-purpose application of efficient catalysis is essential to obtain economically feasible and sustainable chemical processes. Zeolites are well-known catalysts in the petrochemical sector, but they also have an eminent potential for the valorization of other feedstocks such as biomass, which can be a valuable alternative for fossil carbon sources. Their conversion to chemicals, in which (part of) the original functionality is retained, ...
Nutrition and genetic predisposition as determinants of serum lipids and fatty acid status in healthy children and adolescents Ghent University
An important player in pathophysiology of cardiovascular risk is the tissue availability of the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids of which the ratio is determined bij the interaction of nutrition and genetical predisposition. The combined influence of these determinants on serum lipids and fatty acid status in children and adolescents will be assessed, based on data of two European projects.
Resolving Alzheimer’s Disease: role of immunoresolving lipids in microglia Flanders Institute for Biotechnology
Role of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress induced immunogenic lipids in cancer immunotherapy. Ghent University
Bilateral Research Cooperation with Quebec Cross-species combination of cohort and intervention studies to assess common metabolic factors related to infertility and the use of functional lipids for its treatment. Ghent University
Infertility has become a global epidemic for overweight women and high yielding dairy cattle and has ao been related to increased levels of non-esterified fatty acids (FA) in the follicular fluid. In a cohort study with human follicular fluid and dietary intervention study with dairy cattle we hypothesize that mono-unsaturated FA can partially alleviate the detrimental effect of non-esterified FA.
