Market Integration and Value Chain Analysis of the Dairy Sub-Sector in Uganda: An Econometric Analysis Ghent University
1. To analyze dairy value chain in order to identify and prioritize chain integration constraints and come up with strategies for leveraged interventions.
Outputs
- Constraints to diary value chain integration identified and documented.
- Available opportunities that can be exploited identified and documented.
- Strategies for intervention for value chain integration identified.
Applications and Analysis of Lattice Points: Time-stepping and Integration over Rd KU Leuven
We study numerical methods for function approximation and numerical integration. Specifically, we study so called "quasi-Monte Carlo" (QMC) methods. QMC methods are widely used thechniques using deterministic point sets whereas Monte Carlo methods use (pseudo-) random numbers. QMC methods in high dimensions can usually be more efficient than other methods when the problem has a specific high-dimensional structure. Since high-dimensional ...
Integration of linear inverse models and ecological network analysis into life cycle assessment for fish production Ghent University
This research aims to integrate food webs modeling and network analysis into environmental impact assessment of fish production. A new methodological framework will be developed and applied for aquaculture-based as well as fisheries-based fish production. The integrated methodology will allow a more accurate environmental assessment of fish production.
"Migrant Squatting and 'City-zenship': Comparative Analysis of Municipal Migration Policies and Bottom-Up Processes of Integration in Paris and Rome" Ghent University
Scholars in citizenship studies have sought out more inclusive terminology for the growing population of illegalized migrants in the EU. This research project examines how squats allow for alternative articulations and practices of citizenship in European cities. The project will conduct a systematic comparative analysis of urban migration governance in Paris and Rome through ethnographic fieldwork in migrant squats.
Computational analysis and integration of accross-Omics data Ghent University
Omics research fiels like proteomics, genomics and transcriptomics enable studying individual elements of a biological system. This project aims to develop new methodologies for integrating accross-omics information. The resulting platform will be used to study biological mechanisms underlying phenotypic variation. We will develop this project in collaboration with the Bendixen labs from Aarhus University (Denmark) who have generated a unique ...
The prospective relations between the EU and its East European neighbours: a legal analysis of flexible integration models Ghent University
The project researches how and to what extent the EU’s East European neighbours can implement parts of the acquis communautaire, taking into account their specific legal, political and economic contexts. The research methodology is based upon a comparative analysis of flexible integration models.
Integrating World City Network analysis and the Global Value Chain approach: the role of advanced producer services in the global athletic footwear industry Ghent University
This research aims to integrate two globalization paradigms, i.e. the Global Value Chain approach investigating the spatial and organizational structure of transnational production networks, and the world city literature studying global city networks resulting from the inter-firm relations of producer services. The latter play a pivotal role in this integration, and will therefore lead to new insights in contemporary globalization ...
