Response of fluvial processes and sediment dynamics to human impact and global change (Visiting scholar P. Billi, University of Ferrara) Ghent University
Natural rivers geomorphology and dynamics result from the interaction of two main factors: flow regime, controlled mainly by climatic factors, and sediment supply, controlled mainly by catchment physical properties and land use/cover. This project aims to study the river response in terms of sediment transport and channel morphology adjustments to human impact and desertification in both industrialised and developing countries.
