Neurological biomarkers in predicting upper limb function and treatment effects in children with unilateral cerebral palsy. KU Leuven
Assessment of renal function in dogs with diabets mellitus and dogs with Cushing's disease using new renal biomarkers Ghent University
Endocrine disorders such as diabetes mellitus and Cushing's disease can cause nephropathies. The aim of this project is to assess the influence of these disorders on renal function in dogs using new renal biomarkers that allow early detection and localisation of renal damage. Furthermore, urinary protein profiling will be used in order to detect supplemental renal biomarkers.
Muscle functional MRI as an innovative biomarker for fiber type composition. Study in healthy control subjects and chronic low back pain patients. Ghent University
The invasive character of biopsy restricts extensive research on muscle fiber typing in trunk muscles. A noninvasive, in vivo alternative for biopsy may be found in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The objective of this project is to validate T2 relaxation time as an innovative biomarker for fiber type distribution and to gain fundamental insight in structural subdivision in lumbar muscles.
Research into biomarkers for early detection of Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease KU Leuven
The kidneys, two bean shaped organs located on either side of the spine in the back of the abdomen, are important excretory organs of the human body. Apart from the removal of waste, kidneys have other important functions such as maintaining the blood pressure and the activation of vitamin D. Since these tasks are essential for a healthy life, we can say that a good renal function is vital. Nevertheless, today exist a variety of kidney ...
Turning the understanding of inflammation-related pathology into new biomarkers and treatments using next-generation technologies and high-throughput data mining. University of Antwerp
Identification of Real-World Trunk Biomarkers for Fall Risk Detection KU Leuven
What causes cognitive decline in chemotherapy treated cancer survivors? An integrative study using multi-model brain imaging, cognitive testing, measurement of stress & inflammatory biomarkers. KU Leuven
Longitudinal in vivo follow-up of PET biomarkers in neurological disease models. University of Antwerp
Micro/nanotechnology and medical diagnostics: Development of a multiplexed nano-bio-sensing system for in-parallel monitoring of multiple health biomarkers Ghent University
Multiplexed biosensing technologies can bring an important impact to the medical practice reflecting more accurately the health status and favouring a quicker, more accurate, and early detection of a disease by maximizing the amount of information that can be obtained.
The project aims to develop a new biosensing technology based on micro/nano-systems for performing reliably and efficiently monitoring of multiple key biological ...
