In defense of the Russian langauge. Discussions on linguistic experimentation in literature in the Russian émigré community (1917-1939) Ghent University
The proposed research project seeks to examine why during the interwar period linguistic experiments in Russian literature were perceived negatively by the Russian émigré communities in Europe and were replaced by a general preference for the normative language of the Russian classics of the 19th century. Interdisciplinary in scope, the project builds on literary history, literary linguistics, and philosophy of language.

Early childhood—the period in utero to age five when neural and behavioral plasticity is highest—is a sensitive and critical period for skill development. Exposure to environmental risk factors (e.g., malnutrition or a lack of cognitive stimulation) during this early stage of life may lead to large inequalities in the opportunity for human development. The Perfect Number Six: Comprehensively Analyzing Data obtained from Single-Case Experimental Designs KU Leuven
The aim of this PhD project is to provide comprehensive analytical techniques to analyze data obtained from single-case experimental designs. The development of an effect size measure to assess the consistency of data patterns from similar phases in single-case phase designs is a first step to this end. Furthermore, we show how various effect size measures can be incorporate into a comprehensive approach for testing the significance of each ...
The role of motivating coaching in youth sport: A cross-sectional and experimental study Ghent University
By combining two dominant motivational frameworks in the sport literature (i.e., Achievement Goal Approach and Self-Determination Theory) the doctoral project seeks to provide more refined insights in the motivational functioning of athletes. Further, as the motivating impact of youth coaches is mostly described as a rather static characteristic, the project extents this by adopting a more dynamic perspective on coaching.
