This research examines how the changing employment relationship has an impact on the wellbeing and performance of public servants. On the one hand, we examine self-efficacy, motivation and distributive justice as mediating mechanisms. On the other hand, we examine public service
motivation, red tape and the leader’s employment relationship as boundary conditions of this linkage.
