Innovative ultrasound methods for early diagnosis and detection of consequences in dogs with acute kidney injury Ghent University
Acute kidney injury is the abrupt loss of renal function. It is an import health issue in both human and veterinary medicine, with high mortality rate. The currently used diagnostic techniques are imperfect and do not allow timely diagnosis. The aim of this project is to use contrast-enhanced ultrasound, using both commercially available microbubbles and custom made targeted microbubbles, and elastography in the evaluation of dogs with acute ...

Its hallmarks are impairments in everyday social interaction and communication, and restricted and repetitive behaviors. Various existing (and expensive) therapeutic interventions yield very limited relief, and there is no specific cure or a clear-cut biological or cognitive marker for early detection, ...

Genetic profiling of patients with neurodegenerative disease to identify markers for (early) diagnosis and disease progression KU Leuven
Detection and validation of EV-associated molecular patterns to diagnose early stage ovarian cancer Ghent University
Early detection is key to reducing ovarian cancer-associated deaths. Tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (EV), nanometer-sized membrane vesicles which contain proteins, lipids, metabolites and nucleic acids, enter the systemic circulation. We analyze and validate the implementation of EV-associated molecular patterns from blood to detect early stage ovarian cancer.
