Smallholder farmer integration into modern agri-food supply chains: methodological innvoations Ghent University
Food supply chains in developing countries have become increasingly globalised as a result of expansion of domestic supermarkets and export chains. Companies in these chains are demanding in their procurement, which often results in the exclusion of smallholder farmers. This research proposes innovative methodology to study the determinants of inclusion as well as the impact of contracts on smallholder farmers.
