Corruption and Regional Integration Agreeements Ghent University
The object of our study is the interplay between corruption and regional integration agreements (RIAs), which are agreements to remove barriers to trade (tariffs, laws, etc.) for a select group of countries. We seek to answer whether higher levels of corruption lead to more trade agreements and whether this means that RIAs create or eliminate opportunities for rent-seeking behavior.

Three essays on structural parameter estimation and bias correction for discrete choice models. KU Leuven
In the last few decades, we have observed a growing body of economic research that focuses on structural economic models. Several authors, including Dubé et al. (2005), Reis and Wolak (2007), Keane et al. (2011), Low and Meghir (2017), highlight the importance of structural models in providing researchers with better insights on behaviors of economic agents, which cannot be captured by descriptive econometric models. The three main ...
Rigid Motion Correction for Positron Emission Tomography Brain Imaging KU Leuven
During a positron emission tomography (PET) scan the subject is required to be completely stationary for the duration of the scan. Any motion of the subject will translate into motion blur in the final reconstructed image and may reduce the diagnostic value of the image. Motion during a PET scan can be classified into two main categories: non-rigid and rigid motion. Non-rigid motion deforms the subject and is primarily caused by motion in the ...
