Study of the combustion of blends of gasoline, alcohols and water, in advanced internal combustion engines Ghent University
This work aims to develop blending laws for the laminar burning velocity of alcohol/gasoline blends, through experiments and chemical kinetic computations. The reaction scheme will be used to calculate ignition delay times to construct an auto-ignition sub-model, and blending laws for octane numbers. Both blending laws will then be implemented in an engine cycle code and validated against engine experiments.
