Climate Impiety: Beyond Post-Apocalyptic Climate Change Fiction Ghent University
Most climate change literature takes the form of post-apocalyptic, dystopian novels. This form, however, simplifies and compresses the phenomenon to make it dramatic and containable on a human scale. Focusing on climate literature that deviates from the norm, this project will explore alternative narrative strategies that might be more apt to represent the vast dimensions and complexity of climate change.

This project studies how afforestation may form a major nature-based solution for climate change mitigation and adaptation. Building on a global network of forest biodiversity experiments (TreeDivNet), it will determine which tree species associations sequester more carbon, while coping with climate variability such as droughts.
