The Experimental Economics of Parenting: Evidence from Rural China KU Leuven
Early childhood—the period in utero to age five when neural and behavioral plasticity is highest—is a sensitive and critical period for skill development. Designing spatially differentiated pollution control for agricultural ammonia emissions Ghent University
Agriculture is the main source of ammonia emissions. Atmospheric deposition of ammonia causes eutrophication
in ecosystems. The goal of this project is the design of a spatially differentiated policy to abate agricultural ammonia emissions. Therefore, economically calibrated operational models will be designed. This models will be used to evaluate effectivity, efficiency and compliance of different policy options.
A search and matching approach to intermediate trade in agricultural products in developing countries Ghent University
This project develops a search and matching model to study the dynamics among intermediate traders in agricultural products in developing countries. The model is used to predict policy implications of regional specialisation, investment in transport and communication infrastructure, and trade reforms for agricultural development. The models will be tested empirically in comparing agricultural policies in Burundi and Rwanda.
