Affording Recovery after stroke Ghent University
Within this FP7 project we are resonsible for the preparation of antibody coated microbubbles which are able to deliver the attached antibody over the blood brain barrier after ultrasound radiation and hence microbubble implosion. At first instance, we will charachterize the antibody loaded microbubbles and evaluate the possibility to release the attached antibodies after ultrasound treatment in vitro and in vivo.
Identifying prognostic variables for persistent upper limb dysfunctions after breast cancer treatment: body functions, personal and environmental factors according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disease and Health (ICF) KU Leuven
Decreased upper limb (UL) function is common after breast cancer treatment and has a tremendous impact on a woman's quality of life. Since survival rates are increasing, it is essential to identify these factors during and after breast cancer treatment contributing to persistent UL dysfunctions in terms of identifying targets for prospective evaluation and specific treatment approaches at specific time points. Therefore, this project plans a ...

Where will the Flemish live in 2035? A modeling of housing needs according to well-situated residential areas. KU Leuven
In the transition from the Spatial Structure Plan Flanders (RSV) to the Spatial Policy Plan Flanders (BRV), it is important to get insight in where households are going to live and how housing preferences are evolving. The aim of this study is to use quantitative models of housing supply and demand to get a better idea of how the building shift can be shaped spatially and what the steering possibilities are to support the BRV's strategic ...
The ἐξουσία of Jesus as Son of Man According to John 5:27 in its Context: An Exegetical Analysis of John 5:24-30 KU Leuven
The review of scholarship on Jesus’ ἐξουσία shows that a plethora of literature exists on authority in the New Testament. However, from the linguistic point of view, there is hardly anyone who treats Jesus’ ἐξουσία in a comprehensive manner in the gospel of John. Thus, this project ventures into the study of the ἐξουσία of Jesus in John with a special reference to 5:27: καὶ ἐξουσίαν ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ κρίσιν ποιεῖν, ὅτι υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου ἐστίν by ...

THE CANONICAL RIGHT TO REMUNERATION AND DECENT SUPPORT OF THE CLERGY ACCORDING TO CODEX IURIS CANONICI 1983 WITH A SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THOSE CLERICS WHO HAVE BECOME UNSUITABLE FOR ECCLESIASTICAL OFFICES KU Leuven
The system of maintenance of the clergy today we have in the Church is the result of a long historical and juridical process. According to CIC 1917 we had the benefices to provide for the remuneration and decent support of the clergy. It was more of the disciplinary nature of incardination through the bishop’s vigilance and control. Whereas the Revised Code abolished this practice of benefices and it leaves the responsibility of providing ...
Unravelling the systemic effects of primary surgery and perioperative use of anti-inflammatory drugs in primary breast cancer patients according to adiposity. KU Leuven
Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequent cancer in women. Obesity and inflammation (including surgery-related) are conditions favouring BC relapse. We have previously reported that perioperative administration of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) ketorolac reduces the risk of early BC relapses. This effect is particularly pronounced in obese patients. It has been hypothesized that surgery causes a transient systemic inflammation ...
