MULTIMODAL IMAGING OF ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE AND HEART FAILURE KU Leuven
During the last decades important technological advances in nuclear imaging, represented by single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET), strengthened its position in the field of non-invasive cardiac imaging and expanded its opportunities for the evaluation of patients with cardiovascular diseases. This PhD project was intended to give an insight in some of the novel opportunities of nuclear ...

Optimization of adaptive SPECT Ghent University
In this PhD project, we will build on modern techniques for assessment of image quality and optimization of imaging systems, and use them to guide the optimization of Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) systems, in particular for the case of adaptive SPECT. Our results should contribute to the development of more personalized and efficient medical imaging.

Evaluation of data quality in TOF PET using a modified NEC measure and reconstructed images Ghent University
Goal: Determination the Noise Equivalent Counts (NEC) formula for Time-of-Flight Positron Emission Tomography. Using phantoms and possibly simulations of phantoms we plan to study the relationship between a draft formula for TOF NEC calculation and the clinical Signal to Noise ratio. The obtained formula will allow for a more accurate and reliable image quality evaluation method for TOF PET.
