Role of O-2 radicals on silicone plasma treatments for a-Si:H surface passivation of PV wafers bonded to glass Hasselt University KU Leuven
Argon (Ar) and oxygen (O-2) plasmas are performed on silicone adhesives to eliminate the negative influence of silicone on amorphous silicon (a-Si: H) surface passivation of wafers bonded to glass. Both the Ar and O-2 plasmas lead to oxidation of the silicone surface, consisting in an increase of oxygen/carbon ratio, of degree of crosslinking, and of material density. The oxidized silicone is more resilient than pristine and does not interact ...
Effects of He Plasma Pretreatment on Low-k Damage during Cu Surface Cleaning with NH3 Plasma KU Leuven
In this study, the effect of the sequential He and NH3 plasma treatments on a chemical vapor deposition SiOC:H low-k dielectric is evaluated in the wide range of experimental conditions. Results show that the active NH3 plasma radicals penetrate the porous low-k bulk and remove the hydrophobic Si-CH3 groups, which leads to hydrophilization and results in the degradation of dielectric properties. The implementation of He plasma pretreatment ...
Surface modification of Poly(tetrafluoroethylene) and Poly(vinylidene difluoride) using atmospheric pressure plasma jet in Ar/CO2 mixtures Ghent University
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is utilized in many engineering applications, but low wettability and adhesion properties to other materials have limited its use. In this work, Poly(tetrafluoroethylene) and Poly(vinylidene difluoride) (PVDF) film surfaces are modified using Ar/CO2 plasma, and the effects of the modification on the hydrophilicity of PTFE and PVDF are investigated. A plasma jet working under atmospheric pressure has been developed ...
Impact of nonthermal plasma on lipid oxidation from the perspective of plasma treatment parameters and plasma species : identification of key reactive species Ghent University
Nonthermal plasma is a mild processing technology for food preservation. Its impact on lipid oxidation was investigated in this study. Stripped methylesters were considered as a basic lipid model system and were treated by a multihollow surface dielectric barrier discharge. In dry air plasma, O-3, .NO2, .NO3, and O-1(2) were identified as the main reactive species reaching the sample surface. Treatment time was the most prominent parameter ...
