‘Decentring’ the EU’s human rights promotion via civil society in the South Caucasus. Ghent University
Situated at the intersection of critical international relations and political sociology, the dissertation examines the European Union’s human rights promotion policies in the South Caucasus, and civil society’s role therein. The focus is on how EU-sponsored paradigms are performed, negotiated, contested by domestic human rights NGOs and activists on the ground, and the outcomes these multiscalar processes produce.
