Confocal laser scanning microscopy for infertility and stem cell research Ghent University
The Fluoview FV3000 (Olympus, Belgium) is a self-contained confocal laser scanning fluorescence microscope, that allows for capturing confocal images that can be modified and studied on later on. For the different research topics that we are currently studying, confocal imaging is a frequently used tool to analyze our data both for clinical (diagnosis) and research purposes.
STEM/EDS for high-resolution imaging and chemical element mapping to study soft and hard tissues, biomaterials and interfacial biomaterial-tissue interactions. A multifunctional research instrument with broad multidisciplinary application. KU Leuven
Transmission electron microscopy is a powerful research technique with a broad application area in life and material sciences. A large research consortium consisting of 22 partners belonging to 13 research groups with a wide research interest jointly applies for the newest state-of-theart user-friendly, low-threshold and versatile 120-kV Transmission Electron Microscope. This TEM should possess an integrated digital camera for high-resolution ...
The next generation of transmission electron microscopy: from biomedicine to nanomaterials. A state-of-the art electron microscopy system for cryo-EM and correlative light and electron microscopy Hasselt University
Application to purchase an ultra-microtome and hardness tester as instruments, respectively, to prepare specimens for atomic force, light and scanning/transmission electron microscopy, and to measure surface hardness with broad application poten KU Leuven
Development of a new point-of-care COVID-19 screening using exhaled-breath volatilome analysis. KU Leuven
BACKGROUND: The inability to rapidly detect SARS-CoV-2 infection during the COVID-19 pandemic inspired strict lockdown policies, resulting in unprecedented economic adversity and clogging the health care sys-tem. As countries’ fears for second and third wave outbreaks are becoming reality, there is an urgent need for globally available, easy-to-perform, non-invasive, on-the-spot diagnostic tests to detect SARS-CoV-2 and to predict COVID-19 ...
