A Quantitative and Qualitative Examination of English and Scottish Chapbooks in the Long Eighteenth Century: Redaction, Material text, and the Reading of ephemeral Print Capital Ghent University
The project will analyse the largest corpus of British chapbooks ever studied within the long eighteenth century (1680 to 1830), a period during which the democratisation of reading of popular literature occurred. It wil produce a literary-historiographical intervention utilising both qualitative and quantitative methods that recovers the publishing and consumption of chapbooks in the larger world of print.
