Understanding between- and within-individual differences in borderline personality pathology in adolescence. Ghent University
The proposal will use a longitudinal twin-and sibling design to unravel genetic versus environmental underlying factors of borderline personality pathology (BPD) within a spectrum framework. Moreover, the use of an experience sampling design in population and BPD-referred adolescents will enable us to better differentiate between BPD symptomatology and normative adolescent turmoil, with special attention to situational triggers of these ...

Thurstonian-Based Measurement of Implicit Personality Characteristics in Personnel Selection and Assessment in Organizations Ghent University
In recent years, research in work and organizational psychology has started to use implicit personality measures to predict behavior in organizations. This research project uses Thurstonian item-response theory models to investigate and further develop two measurement procedures for implicit personality characteristics—the operant motive test and the conditional reasoning test—such that the methods can be used in organizations.

The validation of the Personality Inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5) and the relation of PID-5 Psychoticism to psychosis KU Leuven
Summary
The Personality Inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5; Krueger et al., 2012) is a self-report questionnaire that originates from the preparatory work of the DSM-5 Task Force, aligning the classical DSM-IV-TR personality categories with a dimensional representation of personality pathology. Inspired by the non-clinical Five Factor Model (FFM; Costa & McCrae, 1992), its 25 primary scales have been reported to group into five higher order ...
Transformation in Improvisation An exploratory study of interpersonal interactions in musical improvisations of patients with borderline personality disorder KU Leuven
Interpersonal exchanges, interactions and bonding are particularly precarious for people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Moreover, these personality states are also allowed to fluctuate over time, depending on the varying situational demands with which the individual is confronted at ...
Active Mechanisms of Personality Change Across the Life Span Ghent University
The present proposal will investigate principles of the Five-Factor-Theory (McCrae & Costa, 1996) and the Social Investment Theory (Roberts & Wood, 2006), two leading theories on normative personality development. Hence, the contribution of genes versus environmental factors (e.g., life events) will be investigated, building on a twin sample from which personality data were already collected in 1997 and in 2000.
