What citizens do for Regional Organisations. Ghent University
This research project offers a novel contribution to the measurement of the effectiveness of Regional Organisations (ROs). First, it creates a methodological framework for the analysis of citizen participation. It then conducts in-depth qualitative research on the implementation of citizen participation in two ROs. Lastly, two indexes of citizen participation are built, one related to its regulation and the other to its implementation: the ...
Bioenergetic organization of the redox status of the small intestinal mucosa of piglets during the weaning transition Ghent University
Amidst the onset of digestive issues in the gut, the mucosa adapts metabolic pathways to maintain
cellular balance, redirecting glucose energy. Modifications to redox-sensitive enzymes govern the shift
of glucose from glycolysis to the pentose phosphate pathway. This interplay could provide potential
markers for detecting redox status and gut health problems.

Developing novel highly precise RNA targeting CRISPR tools to study higher order functional organization of genetic networks KU Leuven
To understand how the genotype shapes the phenotype of an organism is an important problem in genetics. Moreover, higher-order genetic interactions are notoriously difficult to research. To study these interactions, specific and high-throughput tools are needed. However, current technologies, like RNA and CRISPR interference, are either unsuitable for genome-scale screens or have too variable and unpredictable efficiencies. In this PhD ...

Sabbatical Stijn Kelchtermans: The organization of technology transfer, science and entrepreneurship KU Leuven
The purpose of this sabbatical period is to invest in 2 newly started research lines: 1) technology markets / organizing for licenses and 2) teams in science and entrepreneurship (formation and performance). The timing of the sabbatical has been chosen in function of the development of the 3 micro datasets that will be ready for analysis in the autumn of 2022.
