Intrabacterial drug metabolism in Mycobacterium tuberculosis KU Leuven
We will use metabolomics as a tool to study the intrabacterial drug metabolism (IBDM) in Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and identify the pathways associated with it. Next to metabolomics, we aim to apply a genomics approach to elucidate the genes associated with IBDM. Additionally, CRISPR techniques such as CRISPRi and CRISPRa will be used to generate knockdown and overexpression strains of those IBDM related genes. In these strains, drug ...
Mycobacterium tuberculosis defence mechanisms against aggressive oxygen: signalling and protection against overoxidation Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Laying the foundation for whole genome sequencing of clinical Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates in the rural Eastern Cape area of South Africa. University of Antwerp
Mycobacterium tuberculosis in a cholesterol and fatty acid rich environment: global response to dormancy and antibiotic resistance Ghent University
Little is still known on the role of lipids in the survival of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The general objective of this research project is to determine and analyze the global genetic expression of M. tuberculosis and to evaluate its drug susceptibility in an in vitro latency model in the presence of lipids cholesterol and fatty acids.
