Multimodality Imaging in Restrictive Cardiomyopathies: An EACVI expert consensus document In collaboration with the "Working Group on myocardial and pericardial diseases" of the European Society of Cardiology Endorsed by The Indian Academy of Echocardiogr Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Restrictive cardiomyopathies (RCMs) are a diverse group of myocardial diseases with a wide range of aetiologies, including familial, genetic and acquired diseases and ranging from very rare to relatively frequent cardiac disorders. In all these diseases, imaging techniques play a central role. Advanced imaging techniques provide important novel data on the diagnostic and prognostic assessment of RCMs. This EACVI consensus document provides ...
Sensoriality in music listening: multimodality and the “in time/outside of time” dichotomy KU Leuven
Music is a vibrational phenomenon that impinges on the body and the mind. More than any other art, it is able to penetrate the private zone of felt experience. Musical sense-making, therefore, cannot be described merely in nominalist terms, using words and labels instead of sensory realia. Dealing with music, on the contrary, entails a whole array of epistemic and physical interactions with the sounds that make listening such a rich and full ...
Multimodality in Interaction KU Leuven
In this chapter, we present a plea for a stronger inclusion of two strands of research in Cognitive Linguistics, viz. the analysis of meaning construction and coordination in interactional language use, and the study of multimodal meaning making cues (such as gesture, posture and gaze) as essential ingredients of naturally occurring spoken language. Based on the very foundations of the cognitive-linguistic enterprise, we argue that a true ...

Advances in the use of surgery and multimodality treatment for N2 non-small cell lung cancer University of Antwerp
Introduction: Stage IIIA-N2 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) represents a heterogeneous group of bronchogenic carcinomas with locoregional involvement. Different categories of N2 disease exist, ranging from unexpectedly encountered N2 involvement after detailed preoperative staging or surprise' N2, to potentially resectable disease treated within a combined modality setting, and finally, bulky N2 involvement treated by chemoradiation.Areas ...
Electronic feedback on second language writing: a retrospective and prospective essay on multimodality University of Antwerp Ghent University
As technology has made a range of modes of communication available and created new ways to integrate these modes, feedback has become increasingly electronic and multimodal. From written to audio, video, and screencast feedback, the multimodal options for electronic feedback (e-feedback) have expanded in such a way that we might speak of a multimodal turn in feedback on foreign and second language writing. However, feedback studies on second ...
Absorb Bioresorbable Vascular Scaffold in Complex Coronary Bifurcation Interventions: Insights From an In Vivo Multimodality Imaging Study KU Leuven
Although bioresorbable scaffolds offer potential advantages compared with metallic drug-eluting stents in the treatment of complex coronary bifurcation lesions, there are concerns that the polymeric scaffold integrity may be compromised. This in vivo study sought to provide insights about the feasibility of performing complex bifurcation stenting with Absorb bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (Abbott Vascular, Santa Clara, CA).
