Micro Plastics processing Ghent University
Microverwerking plastics (advanced manufacturing and processing, micro-and nano-manufacturing, advanced manufacturing systems) photonics / photonics, advanced materials, ... Microverwerkingstechnieken of plastics for the manufacture of micro-parts or parts with high accuracy in the micrometerbereik (eg. Microspuitgieten, selective material deposition, photolithography, additive manufacturing, ..) Allows Flemish plastics and rubber processors ...
Experimental set-up for micro Raman and photoluminescence studies of individual one-dimensional Moiré crystals. University of Antwerp
Benchtop micro PET/CT camera Ghent University
This project fits in the bigger effort of creating a Ghent University preclinical imaging hardware spin-off. Over the last 3 years we have worked intensively on the necessary technology platforms as well as on putting together a key team to enable the start-up. This StarTT-project encompasses one specific technical milestone. In previous StarTT-projects a benchtop microSPECT imager was successfully developed and validated. Meanwhile, on ...
Ferroelectric liquid crystals on micro and nano-structured electrodes Ghent University
The behaviour of ferroelectric liquid crystals on micro and nano-structured electrodes will be investigated. This is important because in future generations of LCOS based microdisplays, the dimensions of the pixels become smaller and smaller. With a focused ion beam machine the small electrodes will be fabricated on glass substrates.
MICROCOMB Micro ring based mode-locked integrated lasers and their use for dual comb spectroscopy Ghent University
The proposed network will establish and support cross-sectorial training and research programme bringing together leading European academic and industrial centers working in the area of optical frequency combs in microresonators (microcombs). The programme will allow to combine and share some of the world leading experience and expertise
in the microcombs and train a new generation of scientists in this actively developing area ...
Spray coating as an enabler for heterogeneous semiconductor systems-on-chip & bioelectronics Ghent University
The goal of this project is to develop the spray coating of photoresist, ultra-thin DVS-BCB adhesive bonding layers and other advanced polymers on 200 mm Si wafers or small samples comprising photonic or electronic integrated circuits (ICs), or MEMS. This will enable the realization of heterogeneous semiconductor systems-on-chip for application in optical transceivers, smart sensors and advanced electronic integrated circuits (analogue ...
Plasma chemistry modeling in a capacitively coupled plasma used for microelectronics applications. University of Antwerp
Platform development for combining fluorescent and electrical detection of single molecules towards DNA mapping. KU Leuven
Throughout our history, we, humans, have sought to better control and understand our environment. To this end, we have extended our natural senses with a host of sensors—tools that enable us to detect both the very large, such as the merging of two black holes at a distance of 1.3 billion light years from earth, and the very small, such as the identification of individual viral particles from a complex mixture. This dissertation is devoted to ...
