SMARTNANO: Simultaneous multi-parametric readout for low-cost nanoparticle sensors based on molecularly imprinted polymers KU Leuven
SMARTNANO aims at developing novel sensors for detecting engineered nanoparticles (ENPs of Au and TiO2) in aqueous solutions. For that purpose, it suggests new developments in both the transducer and the receptor layer of those sensors: In terms of the transducer, it will implement a multi-parametric sensor setup based on three-electrode quartz crystal microbalances (QCM) as the substrates. The system will read out three complementary ...

Molecularly imprinted polymers as a clean-up technique for T-2 toxin, HT-2 toxin and patulin in complex food matrices Ghent University
The general procedures to trace food contaminants consists of 3 steps: extraction, clean-up and a detection/quantification step. Regarding the first steps immunoaffinity columns exhibit excellent selectivity, but this technique has many disadvantages (expensive, not reusable, U+2026). The purpose of this project is to develop molecularly imprinted polymers applicable for T-2, HT-2 and patulin as an alternative for immunoaffinity columns.
Monitoring of gut functions and inflammation processes with biomimetic sensors based on molecularly imprinted polymers Hasselt University
Development and application of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) in mycotoxin diagnostics Ghent University
Fumonisin is a mycotoxin occurs mainly in maize and derived products. The presence in food or feed constitute a risk to health. The present detection methods for fumonisin are based on immunoafiniteitskolommen (cost price> 10 euros) and carriers of high specificity antibodies. These analyzes are characterized by a high cost price (> 130 euros / analysis), long development time, single use and high analysis time. In addition, the ...
