Spatial and linguistic mismatches in urban and low-skilled labour markets KU Leuven
Job seekers experience a number of barriers that hinder them in finding suitable jobs. Our research focuses on two of those: spatial and linguistic mismatches. There has already been extensive research on the importance of a spatial mismatch in the process of job searching, essentially stating that job seekers do not live close to the vacancies that suit them, a problem that is often exacerbated by a lack of mobility. Changing grounds. Free and unfree coffee-growing labour in the Dutch East Indies and Belgian Congo, 1870-1960. Ghent University

Videoclips to bring research on work and the labour market to its stakeholders Ghent University

With this project we wish to use visually attractive videoclips to bring research on work and the labour market to its key stakeholders: (i) the general public, (ii) the HR community, and (iii) policy makers. This way we aim to contribute to increased evidence-based HR practices and labour market policy.
Nonparametric Analysis of Labour Supply with Demand-side Restrictions KU Leuven
This PhD project aims to apply and extend structural models of labour supply with demand-side restrictions. These demand restrictions manifest to workers as hours constraints or involuntary unemployment. By modelling the restrictions, we avoid bias in labour supply functions and labour supply elasticities, which is of great importance for ex ante (tax) policy analysis. The standard workhorse will be the random utility random opportunity model ...
