Projects
A discourse-theoretical analysis of international communication policies and projects and a multi-facetted analysis of the Information and Comminication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) discourse. Ghent University
First, a discourse-theoretical approach will be developed which will be applied to international communication polices and projects. Second, ICT4D (Information and Communication Technologies for Development) projects, events and policy initiatives will be tied together in a theoretical framework uniting discourse theory and political theory.
Soft and flexible technologies for electrical and optical modulation of the epileptic brain. Ghent University
Spatial and temporal targeting of dedicated brain regions is indispensable when treating brain disorders like epilepsy. This project develops a technology platform to bring targeted neuromodulation to epilepsy patients. Soft implantable probes will record epileptic activity and trigger a novel form of therapeutic neuromodulation based on light pulse delivery, controlled by a flexible electronic subcutaneous interface patch.
Development of highly accurate and reproducible nL/pL dispensing processes by nanodrop technologies. Ghent University
In a number of research activities at UGent which are aiming for the creation of a spin-off company, the spatially and volumetrically precise dispensing of extremely small volumes of liquids (down to 10’s of picoliters) is a crucial fabrication step. In the laboratory proof-of-concept processes this dispensing is done manually (using micro-pipettes) with limited precision and reproducibility. The aim of the tool and the project is to convert ...
