Quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance imaging for characterization of biological parameters with applications in cancer treatment using ionizing radiation. Ghent University
The aim of this study is to visualize two physiological quantities in a non-invasive way using nuclear magnetic resonance imaging: (1) cel biological changes that are the result of ionizing radiation and (2) the oxygen distribution in tumours. This kind of biological imaging can be applied in the study of radiation therapy using hadrons and in optimizing cancer treatment (hypoxia).

Use of Tissue Doppler Imaging (TDI) and 2D Speckle Tracking (ST) to evaluate left ventricular function in horses Ghent University
Uding TDI and ST, left ventricular function in healthy horses is quantified and the accuracy of the measurements analyzed. Subsequently, the effect of a pharmacological stimulation or depression of ventricular function, a ventricular premature beat and the presence of mitral regurgitation on the TDI and ST parameters is studied.

The portrayal of the Ottomans in the Spanish and Austrian Netherlands of the Habsburgs (seventeenth and eighteenth century): printed materials, opinions and imaging of the Ottomans KU Leuven
The theme of the Ottomans was in the Spanish and Austrian Netherlands a common topic in media such as celebrations, printed matter, sermons, etc. A study on media and communications in the Spanish and Austrian Netherlands on the Ottomans can be enlightening for how the imagery proceeded for the identification processes in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, exposing one’s own culture by mirroring it to other cultures. The analysis of ...
