As a WHO collaborating centre, ICRH provides technical and logistical support for operational and applied research, programme design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, training, policy dialogue and advocacy related to the following topics: HIV/AIDS, HPV and cervical cancer, female Genital Mutilation (FGM), forced marriages, honour related violence and other harmful cultural practices, and gender-based violence.
The HIV/AIDS pandemic remains an important threat to human health. Therefore, an intensified academic effort to increase our basic understanding of the molecular virology of HIV and to validate novel strategies and targets to treat or even cure HIV infection is of paramount importance.
