Modulations of functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) activity induced by microstimulation of the anterior cingulate cortex in macaque monkeys. KU Leuven
The anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) is part of the brain’s limbic system and part of a circuit involved in the regulation of cognitive and emotional processes. However, few studies have focused on assessing causal interactions between the ACC and other brain regions. To chart the anatomical connectivity of the ACC, I will analyze the fMRI activity induced by electrical microstimulation of the ACC in macaque monkeys.
