This study examines the impact of different types of personal health budgets (voucher vs. cash) on care organization and the role of health literacy in these relationships. This research studies how and to what degree this empowers patients and impacts care (community-based care, respite care and informal care) and patient outcomes (quality of life, well-being and health).
Empowerment of women in poverty situations in rural China: Acase study of the role of social work Ghent University
The research objective is to theoretically and empirically underpin empowerment-oriented social work towards women in poverty situation in rural China. Since research shows that Western knowledge cannot be uncritically appropriated into social work in indigenous societies such as China, this project will contribute to the development of relevant definitions of empowerment-oriented social work on a global level.
