The sabbatical leave will facilitate the completion of two work packages that are part of my U+201CA Cultural History of British and French Literary Ephemera,1680-1830.U+201D The project will draw up a comparative studies narrative of cultural production and construct a history of literature that pays attention to corpora of textuality hitherto omitted from literary historiography.

The reception of Scandinavian Literature in the Netherlands and Flanders 1860-1940. A comparative Analysis of the role of Networks and the Impact of the Ethnolinguistic Discourse. Ghent University
This research aims at mapping and analyzing the networks of Dutch and Flemish cultural transmitters who, between 1860 and 1940, had a particular interest in Scandinavian literature. The analysis is based on a model of Social Network Analysis that is designed specifically for cultural transfer. A contrastive Dutch-Flemish perspective makes it possible to bring up language ideology abd the ethnolinguistic discourse.

Tense and Aspect in Early Chinese Buddhist Literature: A Diachronic and Comparative Study Ghent University
This research deals with the contextualized usages of tense and aspect expressions in early Chinese Buddhist literature produced before the fifth century, the primary sources of early Chinese. The linguistic features of their tense and aspect markers will be compared with those in pre-Buddhist texts and contemporary non-Buddhist texts thus revealing how those markers developed in early Chinese.
