Implementation of population screening for breast, cervical end colorectal cancer - year 2023 Ghent University
A population-based screening is a systematic offer of screening to a population group with predetermined common characteristics. For example, it may involve women and/or men belonging to a certain age group. Study of microbiota-host interactions during colorectal cancer development using gnotobiotic mouse technology Ghent University
Colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in Western society, and is characterized by strong host-microbiota interactions. We recently developed a unique microbiota-dependent mouse model for invasive colorectal cancer. These mice are protected in germfree conditions and now present an excellent preclinical platform to study the influence of multiple microbiota components to the development of colorectal cancer.
