Luminescent polymer films for liquid crystal displays with a broad color palette Ghent University
The aim of this project is the development of polymer films doped with colloidal quantum dots (QDs) and demonstrating their use as part of quantum dot enhanced displays. Following specific objectives and criteria set Synthesizing new quantum dot materials Cd-free quantum dots (QDs) whose use is not covered by restrictive regulations, with improved optical properties and an economically viable cost structure. Luminescent polymer films: ...
Explore long-term effectiveness of a comprehensive telerehabilitation program on cardiovascular risk factor profile, cardiopulmonary fitness and on reducing the probability of occurring adverse events in a broad cardiac patient population Hasselt University
Faster, better and more efficient product development and prediction of the consumer appreciation for a broad range of processed meat products Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
The Optimeat project builds on the Kwalicharc project, in which a model was developed to predict the appreciation of consumers over a piece of cooked or dried ham, salami, pâté, cooked sausage, aspic or chicken. No taste panels were used, only physicochemical lab analyses. The intention is now to expand the designed model and to refine it with samples of the abovementioned processed meat products ...
Unravelling the hormone response to abiotic and biotic stress in rice: a keystone towards broad spectrum resistance Ghent University
The overall scope of this project is to gain new insights in the relation between plant hormone networks, abiotic stress and rice-pathogen interactions to predict which key factors determine resistance or susceptilibity to pathogens and nematodes in rice. this knowledge will allow us to develop predictors or indicators that can be used in integrated control programs for rice pathogens

Protection of chickens against a broad range of Salmonella serotypes by the use of colonization-inhibition attenuated strains with defined living attenuated strains Ghent University
The aim of the project is to create live attenuated Salmonella strains, which protect broiler chickens after oral administration against colonization by Salmonella. These colonization-inhibition (CI) strains are produced by introducing mutations into the genome so these strains can no longer persist in the broiler, while maintaining protection against colonization.
Development of broad spectrum antimicrobial strategies for larviculture Ghent University
Bacteria with documented positive characteristics, isolated from fish larvae, will be used to formulate mixtures. The modes-of-action of these mixtures will be unravelled in standardised, gnotobiotic test models. Their action against opportunitic pathogenic bacteria in early stages of turbot will be tested in open and closed recirculation cultures.
