Can fortified home-made food make a difference in community management of moderate acute malnutrition? A randomized control trial in Bangladesh Ghent University
Acute malnutrition is a serious public health problem which impacts on mortality in young children. Among <5 years Bangladeshi children, 14% are acutely malnourished, of which 11% (1.6-1.8 million) are moderately acute malnourished (MAM). The aim of this community trial is to test the effectiveness, the feasibility and scalability of homemade recipe fortified with 15 micronutrients in the management of MAM cases.
