Projects
Individual differences is self-regulating behavior: a functional imaging study on brain processes substantiating goal-directedness, persistence, and adaptive behaviour. University of Antwerp
Unethical consumer behaviour: the effect of impulse buying on unethical consumer behavior and the role of moral emotions in in-store communication to prevent shoplifting: experimental studies Ghent University
Study 1. Experimental studies (in lab and in stores), about the negative impact of impulse buying stimulation by retailers on consumer unethical behavior, via the impact of temporary sensation seeking. Study 2. Experimental studies (in lab and stores) about the impact of fear appeals using fines versus social punishment on consumer shoplifting behavior.
Cyberbullying among adolescents: behavioural determinants and effectiveness of an intervention to promote active positive bystander behaviour Ghent University
The study assesses behavioral determinants of positive bystander behavior (defending, reporting, comforting) among adolescents who witness cyberbullying. An intervention (=serious game) is subsequently designed using the Intervention Mapping Protocol to increase positive bystander behavior. This intervention will finally be evaluated on its effectiveness in changing behavior and its determinants.
Study of intraspecific variation in the movement behaviour of a small benthic fish species: integrating behavioural, ecological, endocrinological and molecular data. University of Antwerp
Post-doc sholarship for non-EU-Researchers in the framework of the research project : "a detailed assessment of the behavioural stability of decision rules in the context of transportation behaviour (BELDAM)" Hasselt University
Behavioural change based on the self-categorisation theory: promotion of physical activity among sedentary older adults (intervention study among older adults on intrinsic and social determinants of physical activity and health-related behaviour). KU Leuven
Antecedents of behavioral change among consumers concerning sustainable consumption behavior: An integration of theories and cocnepts from consumer ethics and 'green' consumer behavior Ghent University
The question 'how to incite consumers to a more conscious way of consuming' is very actual. Behavior inconsistency is hereby a big problem. Consumer ethics and green consumer behavior both conducted research about possible explanatory variables for a behavioral change among consumers, but developed quite separately. The aim of this research project is to meaningfully integrate theories and models from both areas.
A comprehensive model of job search behavior: An integration of the Motivational Self-Regulatory model and the Theory of Planned Behavior Ghent University
The research project aims to theoretically build and empirically test a comprehensive model of job search behavior, integrating the Motivational Self-Regulatory Model and the Theory of Planned Behavior to identify the predictors of job search behavior. In addition, recent insights on the unfolding sequence of job search success are applied to add employment outcomes to the integrative model.
