Apofatische en katafatische theologie bij Thomas van Aquino KU Leuven
In 20th century scholarship there is a strong tendency to read Aquinas’s theology along neo-Platonic lines, i.e., as instantiating the model of an ascent of the human soul from the insignificant world of the finite and perishable objects of perception towards the real, eternal ‘Being’ that we call God. Against this tendency, the paper (1) develops a resolutely kataphatic reading of Aquinas’s theology, (2) analyzes the implications for ...
In vivo muscle behaviour in cerebral palsy with an equinus gait : are we on track? Ghent University KU Leuven
Comparative genomics of the dairy isolate Streptococcus macedonicus ACA-DC 198 against related members of the Streptococcus bovis/Streptococcus equinus complex Vrije Universiteit Brussel
BACKGROUND: Within the genus Streptococcus, only Streptococcus thermophilus is used as a starter culture in food fermentations. Streptococcus macedonicus though, which belongs to the Streptococcus bovis/Streptococcus equinus complex (SBSEC), is also frequently isolated from fermented foods mainly of dairy origin. Members of the SBSEC have been implicated in human endocarditis and colon cancer. Here we compare the genome sequence of the dairy ...
El empleado público frente a la máquina : ¿está afectando la digitalización al bienestar de los empleados públicos? Ghent University
During the previous term of government, the decision was made to resize the Flemish Administration due to budgetary constraints, and the number of public employees was decreased by 6.5%. During the current term of government another 1,950 public employees were to be cut by 2019. This decrease in employees was linked to the decision of the Flemish Government to invest in digitalization. Research showed that the staffing cuts were made without ...
Máquina de vectores de soporte para la detección de defectos textiles empleando características espaciales textura Ghent University
This paper presents the results obtained by using a classifier with Support Vector Machines for detecting textile defects in fabrics. In order to obtain the necessary texture features for the detection, four different texture analysis methods were used. The results show the validity of the scheme implemented for the detection of five of the most common types of defects.

Detailed Modelling of the Circumstellar Envelope of the S-type AGB Star W Aquilae KU Leuven
We present new Herschel HIFI (de Graauw et al. 2010) and PACS (Poglitsch et al. 2010) sub-millimeter and far-infrared line observations of several molecular species towards the S-type AGB star W Aql. We use these observations, which probe a wide range of gas temperatures, to constrain the circumstellar properties of W Aql, including mass-loss rate and molecular abundances.
