The current project aims to further explore the role and regulation of Mrgs in the gastrointestinal tract. We will study the function of Mrg in neurons and mast cells using advanced microscopical and cell biological techniques. Furthermore we plan to explore the role of Mrg beyond inflammatory intestinal pathologies, i.e. to investigate the involvement of these receptors in irritable bowelsyndrome.
