Belgium is involved in the survey 'Stigma in a Global Context - Mental Health Survey'. This gives us the opportunity to study stigma from a crosscultural perspective. We take into account the process of deinstitutionalization by paying attention to structural factors such as the organization of the mental health care sector and cultural aspects such as familialization.
Older cancer patients with a Turkish or Moroccan background: Experiences and needs of relatives Ghent University
The first aim of this study is to get insight into the experiences and needs of relatives of older cancer patients with a Turkish or Moroccan background in Flanders. The second aim is to develop a practical guideline for professional caregivers.
Semi-structured interviews and participant observation will be conducted with relatives. The data will be analyzed using the Grounded Theory approach.
