In vitro generation of AML specific T cells from gematopoietic stem cells and functional characterization of these cells in an in vivo animal model Ghent University
Hematopoietic stem cells will be transduced to express a T Cell Receptor. This receptor will be optained by immunizing against WT1 tumor antigen. The T cell receptor genes will be cloned from WT1 speciific T cells and subsequently used for transduction of the stem cells. Stem cells will be differentiated in vitro to T cells and functionality will be assayed in an in vivo animal model.
One for all and all for one: Single-case data analysis with missing data KU Leuven
In this dissertation, we attempt to further research into the design and statistical analysis of single-case experiments (SCEs), with a focus on analyzing these SCEs using randomization tests (RTs). SCEs are increasingly popular in behavioral and educational research, hence further research into methodologies for SCEs is more important than ever before. We identified two key areas of research we wanted to address in this project; the first ...
"One for all, all for one in the fight against poverty?" The role of international law in the collective provision of global public goods in the field of development KU Leuven
Since the landmark book Governing the Commons by Nobel Prize winner Elinor Ostrom (1990), the commons represent an alternative governance model to share resources among communities beyond the logics of market and state. Yet, it is too often overlooked that millions of people, mostly living in developing countries, have in fact been depending on commons such as forests, pastures, grazing lands and fisheries to meet their basic needs for far ...
All for Cultural Heritage@KU Leuven and Cultural Heritage@KU Leuven for all KU Leuven
The KU Leuven Institute for Cultural Heritage wishes to facilitate and support coordinated actions in the domain of cultural heritage. The institute is founded on a unique composition of central services and research units who believe they can do more, when together. In line with international research agendas on cultural heritage, the institute wishes to stimulate research on data science and knowledge sharing, the role of cultural heritage ...
One for all and all for cash? An inquiry into sustainable social network and collective action effects of cash transfers in rural Uganda. University of Antwerp
One against all, all against one? A critical analysis of the United States' secondary sanctions and the international community's response thereto. Ghent University
The wide extraterritorial reach of US sanctions legislation is a well-known phenomenon that has increasingly left its mark on international trade, foreign investment and global finance It has long been a thorn in the eye of the EU and many non-EU countries, and has become ever more controversial since the US withdrawal from the ‘ran nuclear deal’Faced with the risk of being caught in the crossfire of US ‘econdary’sanctions, many European ...
One for all, all for one? A research into the steps towards violent Islamist extremism: what it takes to make costly sacrifices. Ghent University
This research examines the process towards Violent Islamist Extremism and explores what it takes
to make costly sacrifices. We start from an integrated theoretical framework combining the
Significance Quest Theory (SQT) and the Devoted Actor Theory (DAT). According to both theories,
‘the need for personal significance’ is the dominant motivational force underlying the process
towards Violent Islamist Extremism. This ...
Preclinical study of TARP-directed cellular and nanobody therapy in pediatric AML: improving survival and quality-of-life Ghent University
With conventional chemotherapeutic regimens based on anthracycline and cytarabine combinations, high complete remission (CR) rates of more than 90% can be achieved in children diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). Despite these successful response rates, relapse after conventional therapy is common, mainly due to the chemo-refractoriness of leukaemia stem cells (LSCs). While for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL), several other ...
Unlocking the potential of collective spaces in All City/All Land. KU Leuven
This research focuses on the collective spaces in the dispersed urban condition of Flanders, a condition we started to name All City/All Land. The aim of the research is to develop a theoretical understanding of these collective spaces in the dispersed urban condition and to develop an attitude for design interventions.
A first part of the work deepens the knowledge of All City/All Land, interpreting it both as an existing condition and ...
