Ouderen wensen nagenoeg unaniem om zo lang mogelijk thuis te blijven. West-Europese beleidsmakers schuiven daarom thuis ouder worden naar voren als dé manier om ouder te worden. De strategie wordt zo een normatief kader voor, en zelfs door, ouderen. Maar hoe gaan ouderen effectief om met het ouder worden: wat is belangrijk voor hen, en hoe vertaalt zich dat in hun besluitvorming?
