Een reus tussen de reuzen KU Leuven
Streuvels' oeuvre exhibits a number of constants. Most of his works have little intrigue and it is usually pscyhological in nature. The core of the psychological development is often a conflict between two characters or between a character and a condition or situation. A lot of characters are driven by a compulsion, an obsession. The tragedy is that they usually realize this and resist it with all their might, but are powerless against a force ...

Wie is wie in Max Havelaar? KU Leuven
In “Wie is wie in Max Havelaar?” the reality behind the story is investigated. Biographical and other data about the most important characters in this novel are brought together and critically discussed. This information makes it possible to compare the facts with the way Multatuli presents and manipulates them in Max Havelaar. In the case of characters such as Duymaer van Twist and Brest van Kempen this also leads to their rehabilitation.

Wie doet het hem na? Felix Timmermans anno 2018 KU Leuven
In this article, which is actually the representation of a lecture, the author evaluates the work of Felix Timmermans in 2018. He concludes that Timmermans has remained particularly great in his imagery and short stories and that much of his work no longer appeals to the current reader because of its hopelessly outdated, usually religious, themes.
